Direct trains (heading for Milngavie) leave Edinburgh Waverley at 10.07 (arriving 11.37) and 10.39 (arriving 12.07). Another option would be to take the 10.19 Helensburgh train and change at either Partick or Hyndland to arrive at Anniesland at 11.51, or you could get off at Jordanhill and cycle 0.6 miles to the pub from there.
A group that of us will go from Edinburgh Park station.

The trail will be mainly on cycle paths and quiet streets.
